Irony Of The Disbeliever!
Asalama Alaykum Brothers and Sisters in Islam and Hi to non Muslims.
Consider this short story of mine.
It was Wednesday afternoon, the sky was clear, the weather wasn’t too cold but it was little chilly. I had english class that day, I was actually late from it because of errands I was running for the family. I drove as fast as I could to the school which was 15 minutes drive away from me, but wait, my car put up the ’empty gas’ sign and I have to fill it up before I get into the freeway. It took me almost 10 minutes to fill it and I get back on the road. I had less than 25 minutes to get to the school and go to the library of the school, print my homework and get to the class.
With all these rush, I finally got to the class and relaxed. Our teacher started talking about what we will do next week and what we were going to do in the class for that day. To make the story short, the teacher talked about how we need to do better on writing papers and being critical on ourselves when revising our own papers. What caught my attention was when she talked about how we need to clear purpose for our paper, and if we don’t have explicit purpose, we were not going to write academic level of paper writing. I was really amazed how the teacher talked about again and again how we need purpose for our paper, she even gave us several examples and told us to write down the purpose in separate piece of paper.
I wanted to tell her that if we need to put all these effort on just clearing up the purpose of our paper, what will you think about the purpose of our existence. I know when I bring up this topic people turn to shy away from it because everyone has different interpretation and understanding of it, but really think about it, if you have no purpose, why do you even exist. Have you ever seen a company which is making a new product but telling people that it has no purpose or they really don’t know what the purpose is. We will call this kind company a shallow, unprofessional and unacceptable way of marketing product. That’s only a product, what do you think of human, the most intelligent creature on this planet.
In Islam, Humans have very clear purpose, which is not complicated or philosophical. Allah (God) has summoned up our purpose in one verse in the Quran.
“And I did not create the jinn (demons) and mankind except to worship Me.” 51:56
Yes, our main purpose is to worship Allah, and worship (Ibadah) is not only prayer, as Shaikh Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said, “Ibadah is a collective term for everything that Allaah loves and is pleased with from amongst sayings and inward and outward actions.”
The main purpose of this article was to show that we have purpose, which is 100% clear in Islam, and the disbelievers always try to deny it, but they know that they should have purpose but they don’t want to find out because that will stop them from doing whatever they desire.
May Allah (swt) guide us all and show us our true purpose. Ameen.
